Floral Wedding Cakes

Bride's and Groom's cakes together. All the flowers are made of royal icing.

The Groom's Cake was chocolate peanut butter. This is about as scrumptious as it gets!

The Bride's cake was vanilla. Elegant, simple, delicious!

Butterflies

This is one of my all time favorite cakes! It was made for a little girl's birthday party. The theme of the party was Fancy Nancy (a storybook character) so everything had to be really fancy. That was as much as anyone told me, "make it fancy!" and I came up with the rest on my own. When I got there, by an amazing coincidence, the whole party was decked out in butterflies! Three people contributed separately to the decorations and all of us chose butterflies! It was such a special day!

River's Cake

This is a chocolate cake with chocolate and buttercream frosting. It was for a baby shower. The little girl (due to arrive shortly!) is going to be named River. This was one of those fun cakes that I got free reign on! I knew the parents wanted chocolate and I knew how big it needed to be, but the rest was up to me. I always enjoy trying new things and I thought this patterned look was really cool and modern. The mommy-to-be doesn't strike me as having a really girly babyish style, so I went with something kind of unusual for a baby shower. I was thrilled to hear that it went over very well at the shower!

Sweet 16

This is a chocolate cake with buttercream icing made spur of the moment for a 16th birthday party. The flowers are royal icing.

Jennifer's Cake

This is yet another red velvet cake with cream cheese icing. This cake was for a 21st birthday. I love the lime green with the daisies! Such a fun combination!

Cancer Free Cake!

This might be one of the most exciting reasons I've ever made a cake: to celebrate the end of cancer treatments! I wish I could make cakes for this reason every day! This is a chocolate cake with buttercream icing.

Ana's Cake

Here is my latest wedding cake. It is a strawberry cake with strawberry filling and buttercream icing. I also made a strawberry sauce to be spooned over each slice of cake.

John and Debbie's Cake

I made this cake for my aunt and uncle's 40th wedding anniversary. It's a vanilla cake with key lime filling and white mountain frosting. This was one of the rare cakes that I make that I also got to eat! I have to say, the combination of the key lime with the vanilla cake and marshmellowy frosting was AWESOME! The flowers are royal icing.

A Special 60th Birthday

A Special First Birthday.....

This little cake is a first birthday cake for a sweet little girl who shares my name, Leah! It's a strawberry cake with buttercream icing. This cake was for a small get together held on her actual birthday. I made her a bigger more exciting cake for her party a few days later.

Bright and Cheerful!

This is a red velvet cake that I made for a 21st birthday. It was for my cousin's girlfriend so he sort of got the family hook up! He also gave me free reign to do whatever I wanted as long as it was "fun" and had bright colors. So, this is what I came up with! I hope she likes it!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake

Ok, I've wanted to try some version of this cake for a while now! It's a chocolate cake with peanut butter filling and a chocolate peanut butter icing. I kind of threw this together on really short notice so I used what I had. Next time if I have more time to plan, I'll work in some crushed peanuts and maybe something like heath or caramel into the filling. Still, I think this one is pretty fabulous as is!
